2003年世界速滑锦标赛将易址举行

    FIRS核心委员会昨天（2003/5/29）通过电话会议仔细研究了由于SARS引起的原定在中华人民共和国苏州举办的2003年世界速滑锦标赛举办权的问题。

    核心委员会通过了以下的决议：

    a)取消在中华人民共和国苏州举办的2003年世界速滑锦标赛。
    b)授予在中华人民共和国境内2005年世界速滑锦标赛的举办权
   c)授予国际速滑协会（CIC）在6月13日之前从已收到的候选国中最终评定出候选国来代替在中国，然后把提议交给核心委员会的权利。

    已经收到的竞选国有：萨尔瓦多，委内瑞拉，阿根廷和印度。
    中心委员会将在6月13日再次会面并决定那个国家能举办在11月的2003年世界速滑锦标赛。

     Central Committee met yesterday via conference call to study carefully the problem arisen, due to SARS, with the organization of the 2003 World Speed Championships which were to be held in Souzhou, People Republic of China. 

    The Central Committee took the following decisions:
    a) to cancel the 2003 World Speed Championships in Souzhou, People Republic of China
    b) To offer to the People抯 Republic of China National Federation the possibility to host the 2005 World Speed Championships.
    c) To give the International Speed Committee (CIC) till June 13th to evaluate the different candidatures received to replace the National Federation of China and to submit a recommendation to the Central Committee.

    The bids received as per today are: El Salvador, Venezuela, Argentina and India.
    The Central Committee will meet next June 13th and will decide which Federation should have the honour to organize in November the 2003 World Speed Championships.
