<P>The Re-birth of Inline Skates is upon us. No boot has been designed from the foot out... That is, until now. </P>
<P>One thing that really caught my attention about these skates, is how customizable they are. I am not talking about color options (although I&#8217;m sure it&#8217;s in the works). Functional pieces of the skate can be custom tailored to your needs. Not everyone&#8217;s foot is the same. So how could a one-setting skate work for everyone? </P>
<P>Xsjado is the only Skate Company that is addressing this situation. Any other brand of inline skates, I spend hours making them fit and work, as I feel they should. Cutting away materials, whatever I had to do to make them feel like Custom Skates that fit me (a not so average size 10). </P>
<P>Besides the instep straps almost to the millimeter exactness, and the close wrap of the soft Velcro toe and ankle straps, these adjustment points can be repositioned for different foot sizes and skating preferences. The cuff slides from front to back along the base allowing you to find the size that suits you best. Removing a bolt, the instep strap can be taken off and re-affixed at different points on the cuff. A true customizable skate... </P>
<P>Upon closer inspection, you&#8217;ll find only functional parts on this skate. Every part and piece serves a purpose. This is great as you eliminate any dead weight. No extra tongues or useless Velcro straps. No unnecessary bulk to this skate. It&#8217;s everything you need and nothing you don&#8217;t (enter Nissan commercial). </P>
<P>The most obvious difference between the Xsjado skates and a normal skate is that the Xsjado incorporates a low-soled sneaker (footwraps). They are designed to act like a second layer of skin for your foot. The foot wrap sits far back into the shell of the skate, fitting snugly by means of a molded outsole. Once the foot wrap is properly placed in the shell, the instep cover and strap is used to lock the heel in place. This lock is the center of the Xsjado skate concept. The instep-strap appoints the cross-section of your foot from your instep to your heel as the fulcrum for leverage from which all action is directed. This makes your actions more exact and true, requiring less effort and overcompensation. Basically, you are able to feel more through your skate and do less work to get there. This lets you concentrate more on your tricks and stunts, opposed to your heel lifting up in your skates. It simply feels as if your shoes had wheels and sole plates. That&#8217;s the idea! The instep-cover continues up the foot to connect with the lower shin, and is adjusted for fit and comfort by the way of left and right ankle straps. This total unit provides continuity throughout the skate and aids the cuff in supporting the ankle. With this skate you are free to articulate your toes and extend them up or push them firmly down. This freedom of extension is what&#8217;s needed when loading your leg/foot for jumping. With the Xsjado skate, you&#8217;ll actually feel a dramatic ease in launch and increase in flat ground jumping height. I noticed this right away when I first strapped in. It works with your feet and legs to help support your support your jumping efforts. </P>
<P>The Xsjado cuff does not have classic style cuff bolts. Instead, a pedal-like cuff allows your ankle freedom in any direction (still limiting from hyperextension). This cuff was inspired by the variable tension of bamboo trees. Which allow them to bend in the wind even to the ground without snapping. You put to rest your concerns about flex. Like Bamboo, The Xsjado&#8217;s cuff has a slit to allow it to bend quite easily at its top, but get firmer and rooted towards its base. Giving you more control over that area of the skate.
