The city of Harbin was for the first time a host for the WORLD INLINE CUP. With more than one thousand participants in all races, the WIC TopClass race was a big event in the Manchurian Capital in the North of China with skaters from 15 countries competing for WIC points. Athletes from Venezuela, Colombia, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Estonia, Spain, Thailand, Singapore, Korea, Netherlands, France, Czech Republic, Thailand and New Zealand celebrated the comeback of the WORLD INLINE CUP in China.
Hot race on a fast course
The course stretched over 6400m on six hot and windy laps along the riverside of the Songhua River in Harbin. In the leading group Spaniard Patxi Peula (EO Skates World Team), Elio Cuncu from Italy and Jakob Ulreich from Austria (EOSkates World Team) were changing positions with Yann Guyader (Rollerblade World Team) from France and Ondrej Suchy from the Czech National Team. After four laps Jakob Ulreich started a breakaway followed by Patxi Peula. Finally, Patxi Peula was the first crossing the finish line, followed by Jakob Ulreich and Yann Guyader.
